Body does not work in isolation. Everything inside our body is directly or indirectly linked with everything else inside body. Similarly, ED has been shown to be connected with visceral adiposity. Visceral adiposity has been shown to be associated with low testosterone in men. Few investigations have implicated a direct link between centrally obese men and low levels of testosterone. Association of Testosterone with insulin resistance, obesity, diabetes and atheroschlerosis has been presented earlier but has not received much attention. Higher incidence of metabolic syndrome has also been hypothesized to be associated with decline in testosterone levels. There is evidence that testosterone replacement therapy results in reduced insulin resistance and central obesity in type 2 diabetic men.
Thank you Dr Kapur for your contribution . This is one of the most important reason why we have to learn more about Hormone replacement therapy out of the box. Its not just for Menopause and Andropause but we all need our hormones to be balanced for good quality of life.
INDOMEDICON is a step in that direction and I am sure very soon checking hormone levels in patients with DM, HTN, Obesity, ED ,Alzheimer's ,etc will become a norm.
Looking forward to see you in Mumbai tis June.
